According to newly uncovered federal contracting documents, ICE plans to hire nearly 30 private contractors to run 24/7 social media monitoring operations at targeting centers in Vermont and California.

- Contractors would scan platforms like Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube for posts and profiles that could be turned into enforcement leads.
- Analysts would work in shifts around the clock, producing dossiers for ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations.
- Cases flagged as urgent could require review within just 30 minutes.
🧾 What Are the Options Now?
- ICE is still in the “request for information” stage, meaning no contract has been finalized yet.
- If approved, contractors will also use commercial databases (LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters CLEAR) alongside AI tools to track immigrants.
