Stricter Limits Proposed for Student & Media Visas

Currently, visas often last as long as a program or job assignment. Under the new proposal, they would be capped at fixed terms.

🔑 What’s Changing?

  • F-1 & J-1 visas (students & exchange visitors): maximum of 4 years.

  • I visas (foreign journalists): maximum of 240 days.

  • Chinese journalists: only 90 days.
