August 30, 2025 | @DailyImmigrant — A federal judge has halted a Trump administration policy that would have expanded “fast-track” deportations to the entire country. The rule, introduced in January 2025, allowed immigration officers to quickly deport individuals anywhere in the U.S. if they couldn’t prove two years of residence.

Judge Jia Cobb ruled the policy violated constitutional due process protections.

🔑 What’s Changing?

  • Fast-track deportations will remain limited to migrants detained near U.S. borders.

  • The nationwide expansion of the program is blocked.

⚠️ Important Reminders:

  • Migrants found in the U.S. interior must still go through standard immigration court proceedings.

  • The government may appeal this ruling.
